The 3 Best (And Hardest) Things About Being the Boss

Many of us who start our own private practices, whether in medicine, psychology, accounting, dentistry, law (or whatever your specialty) do not have MBAs or prior training on being a business owner and a boss.

I love being a business owner. But even writing those words, feels a little weird, 13 years after starting our practice.  And, that's because, first and foremost, I think of myself as a physician.  And, you may be the same. But, we are business owners.  And, we are bosses.  And, there is tremendous flexibility AND difficulty inherent in that.

It IS hard. No doubt about it. But 13 years later, I would do it all over again.

I believe there is power in learning from the path others have taken.
