How To Reduce Decision Fatigue

Listen On

Sometimes it's the daily decisions that can be so overwhelming. Not the big life changing - should I move to Hawaii and buy a super expensive practice ones.

But the almost inconsequential ones. The ones which constantly compete for our attention.

They used to overwhelm me. I used to think that if I had to make one more decision about something, I was going to scream. I felt emotionally drained by the end of the day.

I was making so many decisions in my practice and at home that ultimately, this caused a bottleneck.  I became paralyzed by inaction.

And, the worst was when the kids wanted my time and attention, I felt that I had nothing left.

Decision fatigue is real. It's the mental and emotional overload and fatigue caused by the burden of multiple choices and decisions.

I talk about the strategies I have employed to overcome it in the latest episode of the It's Good To See You podcast.

  1. Systemize
  2. Limit Options
  3. Prioritize
  4. Automate
  5. Create routines

All of this now allows me to energy and mental space to take my kids to the beach on a random Tuesday like pictured here.
